The purpose of this policy is to provide consistent and clear procedures on how, when and why
games will be cancelled due to inclement weather conditions or poor field conditions, and how the Association members will be notified.

The staff will evaluate and determine the weather and field conditions. If no staff are present the Field Marshal on duty at the time of questioned matches will make the decision.

Evaluation Guidelines
Because the fall and spring soccer seasons may have extreme high and low temperatures the following competition guidelines have been established. Weather will be monitored on the NOAA.gov website and Weather-Bug app.

Hot Weather Policy

SSA will enforce the following procedures based on conditions:

- Heat Index up to 89°: Normal Play. Regular hydration patterns
- Heat index of 90°- 95°: Mandatory water breaks every 20 minutes.
- Heat index of 96°-104°: Mandatory water breaks every 10 minutes.
- Heat index over 105°: All outside activity will be suspended
*Teams will be allowed to delay training until the Heat Index is below 105 degrees

Winter Weather Policy

If the projected temperature (including wind chill) is below 30 degrees Fahrenheit, the complex will be closed.

Severe Weather Policy

In the event of any weather warning for our area, all activities will be suspended. If any thunder or lightning is within a 10-mile radius of complex, all activities will be suspended. Coaches will instruct all players to seek shelter in covered facilities or in cars as appropriate and available. Activities may resume once 30 minutes have passed from the final lightning strike within the 10-mile radius.

Tournament Exemption: The above heat and cold weather policies may be suspended for tournament play at the discretion of the tournament director.

Notification

SSA staff is charged with informing all members using social media and/or TeamSnap Notification

- Players that register and request to be dropped prior to the last day of registration (Fall-July 31/ Spring-Jan 31) will receive a refund of 75% of Registration.

- Players that request to be dropped after teams are formed and prior to the start of the season will receive a refund of 50% of registration fees.

- All Players that request to be dropped after the start of the season forfeit all registration
fees paid

All refund requests must be submitted in writing via email to the Executive Director

- There are no refunds on uniforms.
- Competitive Players that register and request to be dropped after June 15 but before August 1 will receive a refund minus a $50 administration fee. (Team Commitment Fee is non-refundable)

- All Players that request to be dropped after the start of the season forfeit all registration fees paid.

The purpose of this policy is to provide consistent application of conduct and proper internal controls to safeguard the players, coaches, referees.

Fields of Play:

Soccer- Teams will occupy the same side of the field, with parents occupying the opposite side of the field. Coaches and all players not awaiting substitution must be in their respective areas.

Flag Football- Teams will occupy the opposite sides of the field, with parents on their team sides.

Coaches, players and supporters must stay at least five (5) feet back from the touchline for the referee to be able to make appropriate calls.

Sideline behavior:

Coaches and parents are encouraged to use appropriate behavior before, during and
after games. Any inappropriate behavior will be reported to the Executive Director and could
possibly result in consequences.

As a spectator at Sunflower Sports Association, you agree to abide by and follow the rules and guidelines below:

· I will adhere to the Sunflower Sports Association Zero Tolerance Policy. I will never be under the influence of or in possession of drugs, alcohol, tobacco products or weapons of any kind at practices, games, trips or other events.

· I understand that the use of foul language towards anyone (coaches, teammates, officials, opponents or spectators) will not be tolerated. I will not engage in any language or actions with the intent to initiate, hurt, intimidate or humiliate any player, coach, official or spectator. I will not tolerate these acts from any players, coaches or adults associated with Sunflower Sports. These acts shall be considered harassment and will result in the immediate removal from the practice, game or event.

· I (and my guests) will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player or parent such as booing, taunting or using profane language or gestures. I will maintain self-control at games, practices and other club events.

· I (and my guests) will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and demonstrate positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game, practice or event.

· I will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and wellbeing of the athletes.

· I will encourage my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence. I will demand that my child treat all players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect.

· I will praise my child for playing hard, competing fairly.

· I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other participant for making a mistake or losing a game.

· I will not complain or become confrontational about penalties or calls made by the officials and I will respect the referees and their decisions at all times.

· I will support the coaches and allow them to do their job by not coaching my child or other players during games and practices. I will not openly question or confront coaches before, during or after games or practices. I will take the time to speak with coaches about any concerns calmly, privately and at an agreed upon time and place.

· I will not force my child to participate.

· I will promote the emotional and physical wellbeing of the athletes ahead of any personal desire I have for my child or his/her team to win.

· I will inform the coach of any physical disability, illness or injury that may affect the safety of my child or the safety of others.

I realize that if I violate this Code of Conduct, I may be subject to disciplinary action that could include one or more, but not limited to the following:

· Verbal warning by Head Coach and/or Sunflower Sports staff

· Written Warning

· Parental Game suspension with written documentation of incident kept on file by Sunflower Sports office.

· Parental Season suspension

· Parental Suspension from all future Sunflower Sports (Home or Away), Practices and Events
